I am back!

I have been lagging posts, or well not posting at all.
Just had a VERY tough semester but after tomorrow I am done for a while since I'm taking next semester off!
I have purchased a few items from MAC and wal-mart so maybe my next post will be a haul/review?

Hmm, I'll see but definitely expect more posts ! =)

Good luck to all those with finals this week!

My Perfect Imperfections

AndreasChoice came up with the coolest tag. I'm a huge fan of YT beauty gurus, and in the camera they look so perfect! But we all know no one is perfect, we all have flaws and this tag is just put out there to show that to people.

So I decided to participate, as well as add 3 of the video tags that went up on YouTube most recently.

Here are MY perfect imperfections.

Imperfections

1. I have DEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP black under eye circles. It seriously looks like I am a sleep deprived student. Even though some days I am, but days I do get a good rest I still have dark under eye circles.

2. My right eyelid drops a bit so when in pictures, my right eye is slightly covered (you can barely notice but I always notice lol). I first noticed it in my graduation picture, so now everytime I look at it, notice it haha.

3. My upper lip has a darker color to it like, discoloration, so it looks like I have a mustache! Its not only my upper lip, right below my bottom lip, it kind of goes in and its dark there as well as around the corners of my lips. So concealer is my best best friend.
I'm still looking for a really good concealer, currently I use the Annabelle concealer quad, with the clinique concealer.

I love

1. My smile, it lightens up my whole face :P. I have a gigantic smile, white & straight teeth and I absolutely love it!

2. My long long eyelashes. I always get tons of compliments on my lashes, some ladies even think they're fake! I even go without mascara during school since its really not necessary. I just apply a simple cream like Nivea or Vaseline with a clean mascara wand.

3. My big brown eyes. My eyes are so big, giving me so much room for lots of eyeshadow. Even though I can't do the smokey eye (which I wouldn't consideing my dark under eye circles), I can still work with purples, blues, and pinks.

What are your imperfections/perfections? Let me know!

Favorite Neutral Eyeshadow Palettes

I'm a huge sucker for eyeshadow palettes.
My two recent, and most favorite eyeshadow palettes are very similar but still unique.
I can use these palettes for day and night time wear. Perfect for school and reasonable pricing!

First is the
NYX 10 Color Eyeshadow Palette - For Brown Eyes

Credit MakeupGeek

My first but certainly not last NYX product is this palette. This palette is awesome! I am East Indian so I do have a darker skin tone, the light pink and light brown colors are perfect for my lid and the darker brown and green work great in the outer corner.
With a good primer these colors show up great.

If you are from Canada, the only place I know that sells NYX products is the Rexall Pharmacy. However it is cheaper to buy them online. The Makeupgeek site which I linked above sells it for $9 (US). At the drugstore I paid $14.99 + tax (CAD). I highly recommend to look around online.

The second palette I purchased a while back from Sephora is the Mini Makeup Palette To-Go in the Bronze.
I don't know if the exact palette with the same colors is still there, or if it was limited edition. However, Sephora does sell mini-makeup palettes to go. They are definitely worth it!
This costs around $19.99 (CAD). It is a small palette, good for traveling and the brighter colors can put a good kick into your eyes at night. The only problem I have with this palette is the bronzer and lip gloss kit tend to slide out when in its in my makeup bag. So for a heads up, make sure you tape it up when not in use!

Heres a good tutorial (This is not me) on this palette. For neutral eyes.

A Few Shampoo Reviews

Alright, so I've gone through many different shampoos in the past 5 years and I still haven't found the right one!
Here are some reviews of the shampoos and conditioners I've used. Please keep in mind these are my personal opinions, I am not a professional.

The Redken Smooth Down Shampoo & Conditioner

I used this shampoo and conditioner when I was in high school for about 2 years and let me tell you, it works great! My hair was left smooth and shiny, and knot free! I didn't have a huge problem with an oily or dry scalp so I didn't have any problems with it. Considering I had long hair, I was surprised that the 1L bottles lasted me over 2 months. The reason I stopped using it was mainly because it was really pricey ($50 CAD for both the shampoo and conditioner, 1L bottles) and the salon I bought it from stopped selling the product. However, I later found out this shampoo works better for a dry scalp because it does help the scalp to produce more oil.

The Redken Scalp Relief Dandruff Control Shampoo & Conditioner

After high school, I went straight to University, and let me tell you, I was STRESSED out! I'm not sure why, but I found that with stress my scalp began getting a lot of dandruff. This was never a problem for me in the past so I thought of changing shampoos. I did some research online, asked a few salons and decided to use this one because its a reliable brand and it was specifically made for dandruff control. The shampoo and condtioner smell great, and it leaves your hair incredibly soft. I followed the directions which said to only use it  once or twice a week. After about 3 weeks, I noticed a difference and now I only use it once a month or so. I'm not sure they sell it in 1L bottles but I would recommend the smaller bottles if dandruff is a major problem. It is fairly pricey ($15 CAD for each bottle), and for a cheaper alternative I'd go for a drugstore brand made for dandruff control.

Aussie Volume, Aussie Sydney Smooth & Aussie Moist, Shampoo & Conditioner

From all the drugstore shampoo and conditioners, I personally recommend the Aussie Brand. However, if you are looking for volume in your hair, if your hair is frizzy and you want it more smoother, I don't think any of these shampoo's & conditioners are different from one another. From my personal opinion my hair feels the exact same way from each of them. They do smell great, your hair feels extremely soft after each use but like I said, they all have the same effect.

Mane and Tail Shampoo and Conditioner

Alright, so I have heard so much about this shampoo from beauty gurus on Youtube and other blogs online, so I knew I had to try it out.
Last year I chopped my hair off about 10 inches and got a short bob done. It looked great and I did love it, but when you grow out your hair, you come to a stage where you either have to cut it again, or suffer through 3 months with it looking like a 12 year old hair cut (I would be too lazy to style it). I was desperate for it to grow long for my cousins wedding 4 months away and couldn't afford extensions. I heard about this shampoo and how it apparently helped hair growth.
Well, for me, it didn't do anything with my hair growth. However, one thing I did notice was how thicker my hair became. After going for a haircut, the lady who cut my hair made my hair extremely thin. She thinned it out so much that I felt like I had no hair left! But after about 2 weeks with this shampoo i felt my hair getting thicker.
It does make my hair dry and frizzy so I don't recommend it to be used daily.  I use it twice a week and the other days I use the Aussie shampoo.

Well thats it for now! If you have any questions or products you'd like me to review, let me know!
Thanks and have a lovely day!
